This Man

Image
To you, who is Jesus? To the typical, unbelieving man on the street, Jesus may be a good man, a teacher, an avatar of the divine, or even a myth invented by man to control the masses. I can’t remember where I heard this last comment, but it saddens me. I feel the anger and cynicism behind it and I sense the person’s hatred of anyone they believe is telling them what they can or cannot do. The problem with the unbeliever’s conclusions about Jesus is their conscience; that innate awareness of right and wrong. They can’t explain it or get rid of it. They’re convicted by a law they refuse to acknowledge and it angers them. Yet, the only reason we know right from wrong is because God wrote it. The Almighty, Triune God set the Standard and no matter what we do there’s no getting around it.

A Thanksgiving Contemplation

Image
So THANKFUL for my beautiful Mom (center) and Aunts. Driving home from work Wednesday night before T h a n k s g i v i n g , my eyes caught the McDonald’s restaurant signboard. They were advertising a “Big Breakfast Thanksgiving morning.” A question quickly came to mind. “Who would go to McDonald’s for this big breakfast Thanksgiving morning?” I answered myself almost immediately, with an envious reflection, “Probably anyone who doesn’t have a ton of cleaning, cooking and baking to do.” I had worked late, I was tired, and a bit cranky. But then, my thoughts were on to something else. I think I reviewed all the ingredients I purchased earlier, making sure before I drove all the way home, I hadn’t forgotten anything. To me, T h a n k s g i v i n g has always been about thanking God for His blessings in my life the past year. However, this morning, I remembered McDonald’s sign and I got to thinking about the people who just might have attended the “Big Breakfast” feast. ...

A Family Picture

Image
http://www.ehow.co.uk/video_4952598.html Have you ever given much thought as to why God performed major surgery on Adam in order to create Eve? I mean, why didn’t He just take another lump of clay and fashion or build a woman? As I asked the Lord, I believe He impressed upon my heart that the answer is wrapped up in Who He is. He is a Triune God, Three in One. This then, is the main picture we see in God’s creation of Adam, then Eve, taken from Adam, and baby (combination of the two) makes three. Three humans as one; all interconnected with each other. Furthermore, each sibling, although separate from the others, is united with the parents in the very same way. The first family then, becomes a picture, albeit weak, of the Trinity. www.pic2fly.com
