Meat for the Hungry

But I’m not talking about the four seasons our Holy God put into place—governed by His sun and moon. [1] I’m talking about the season of which Jesus spoke when He said, “Now learn this parable from the f i g t r e e : When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that s u m m e r i s n e a r . So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!” [2]   What is near and at the doors? Summer—the things leading up to this age’s final seven years and the great tribulation.   “Enough already with the doom and gloom!”   I hear your protests. Father, we have sinned against You, and You have allowed this trial to come upon us so we would wake up and have our eyes opened to the wickedness in our midst. You have afflicted us; therefore, we repent with our faces to the ground. We have returned to make supplication and confess Your Holy name.
