Do Our Part

Clipart.com If you have been with me throughout these 17 years of newsletters, you are probably well aware of my views about America. However, if you’re new, you may not know I believe God deliberately established two specific nations on this planet. Israel first and then the USA.   Israel is forever—America is not.   Forever meaning only as the LORD God Almighty said through Jeremiah. If the sun, moon, and stars depart from before Him, or if the heavens and earth’s foundations can be searched out (which they cannot be), then, and only then, will Israel cease from being a nation. [1]   Yet, this phenomenon will not take place until after the millennial reign of Yeshua Jesus and the Almighty Triune God, seated on His great white throne, comes into our existence. In those glorious moments, earth and heaven flee, and the sun and moon are not needed. Why? The glory of God illuminates the New Jerusalem, and the Lamb is its light. [2]   Wonderful ...

https://wpcgodfrey.org/sermons/the-sword-of-the=spirit/ As his knee touched the ground, the soldier bowed his head, knowing the battle could not be fought or won in his own strength. The burden heavy and the task grueling, yet whispered prayer escaped his heart, and an unseen joy surrounded him, lifted the load, and encouraged his spirit.   He stood, and as he did, light from somewhere bounced off his golden armor. It hit his helmet, then his breastplate, traveled from shield to belt, and down to his shoes. Finally, it landed on the sword dangling at his side. Feeling the need to unsheathe, he heard scraping metal pierce the silence. Flashes flickered with every move. And holding this sword high and lifted, [1] the Word he needed filled him.   Moving forward, the bulk of his armor disappeared, but he knew it was there—he felt God’s power. Approaching the battle, more of the Word came to mind. Then sensing the LORD of Glory before and behind, he stepped toward the an...

What is RIGHTEOUSNESS? Part 2

Image
Have you ever heard of the poem and book, Children Learn What They Live by Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D.?   I think I’ve been aware of it all my adult life because my mother would quote it from time to time or at least quote the title. But just to refresh your memory, here’s a short excerpt:  If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. If children live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive…If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence…If children live with acceptance, they learn to love…If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness… [1]   Even though this comes from a secular point of view to me, it has always made sense. However, where true believers are concerned, the poem stops short, and we could add more. If children live with LOVE, they learn to trust. If children live with GRACE, they learn to forgive. If children live with RIGHTEOUSNESS , they learn uprightness of hear...

Seventeen Days of Prayer - Day Three - January 6, 2021

I've been working on this prayer since 6 am and I've just now finished. The Lord gave me Job 23:12 this morning when I started but when I read the chapter I knew it was our prayer for today. DAY THREE:  O Lord my God, I am grieved, my complaint is bitter, and my hand is listless because of my groaning. Father, things in our world look bleak and while we try to stand strong in the power of Your might, Your children are frail, and unsure of what You are doing.   Sometimes, Lord, we feel as though we cannot find You, yet because of Your Holy Spirit, we know You are there. Help us to gaze upon Your throne and see you seated with our spiritual eyes. Give us opportunity to present our case before You. Take note of us in Your great power. Hear our arguments; answer us with clarity and understanding because we cannot see Your hand.   Lord our nation is in chaos and we, as your upright children, desire to reason with our great and merciful Judge. Give Your divine wisdom to ...

Seventeen Days of Prayer--Day Two--January 5, 2021

Our prayer for DAY TWO:   Father God, as we boldly enter into Your throne room through the torn veil, the body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, [1] we humble ourselves in Your presence. Thank you for allowing us to enter and Lord Jesus, for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin. [2]   You alone are Holy, good, and true. [3] Only You deserve our honor, praise, and worship for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, but Jesus Christ. [4] Thank you for sealing us, Your servants, with and by the power of Your Holy Spirit. [5]   O Lord, my God, we beseech you today. You are the One who made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground. You did this by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm. You alone have the right to give it to whom it seemed proper to You. [6]   Right this moment, we again humble ourselves and acknowledge Your right, authority, and sovereignty to perfo...
