ISRAEL AT WAR – Part One

Image
I had planned to write more about artificial intelligence and the end of humanity as we know it, but Israel is at war , and that takes precedence.   So, what’s going on? Is this just more of the same Middle East unrest? Or is this war in Israel the beginning of the end—not of Israel, but of the age in which we live? I believe the latter.   Why? It doesn’t just have to do with Israel but with global alignments. How did our focus switch from Russia/Ukraine to Israel ? What caused Hamas to be able to attack Israel—one of the most militarily armed and protected countries in the world? And why do we see citizens of America supporting Hamas—a demonic terrorist group with only one thing in mind—destroy Israel?   As a slap in the face to all Americans, on September 11, 2023 , Biden agreed to release SIX BILLION dollars to the Islamic nation of Iran in exchange for FIVE prisoners. Yes, they paid a ransom to terrorists. Shocking, I know. I never thought I’d see the ...

THE SON OF GOD’S LOVE

Photo by  Robert Linder  on  Unsplash   In our 10:30 am small group class on Sunday mornings, we have been studying the book of Colossians. Last October, when I began preparing Colossians, the first thing that caught my attention was a phrase in Colossians 1:13 – “ the Son of His love .” . The NKJV renders verse thirteen as “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love .”   Other Bible versions translate the phrase differently, saying, “his dear Son; beloved Son; or the Son he loves.” And truly, the Father does love the Son, for He said many times, “This is  My   beloved   Son , in whom I am well pleased.” [1] Nevertheless, the wording of NKJV intrigued me—stopped me in my tracks, so to speak—and my mind flooded with questions. “What exactly does “the Son of His love” mean? Is it only that God the Father loves God the Son? Or does it go much deeper?”   I was positive there ...

The Same God

I love it when I find the Gospel in the Old Testament. To me, it confirms the Scriptural Truth that God does not change— He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. [1] And for some reason, I need this understanding settled within my heart to function in my daily life.   Lately, Job has been sort of my go-to book when I was feeling down. No matter how bad things got, it wasn’t as bad as it was for Job. Amid the horrific disasters God allowed Satan to perpetrate on Job’s life, even killing his children, Job did not charge God with wrong. In fact, he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” [2]   I find that fascinating—and so unlike me.   It’s possible in my rantings this past year, I did charge God with wrong. I pray I didn’t, but if I didn’t, I think I came very close. And I wasn’t really suffering.   Only God could ha...
