Heavenly Father, As I sit here in the wee hours of the morning, afternoon, or evening, I seek Your face on behalf of myself, my community, my state, and my nation. LORD, I know since sin entered the world, we all have been born with a sin nature inherited from Adam, and we cannot cleanse ourselves of it. [1] I have sinned, fallen very short of Your glory, [2] and this moment, I repent. [3] Have mercy on me, O LORD, the chief of sinners. Not the pride we feel in our children, spouse, family, and friends or when singing our National Anthem or God Bless America . No, this pride defies God Almighty, desecrates His Holy Word, and yet proves it TRUE at the same time.   Those who celebrate—hate God—even though they may not realize it, as some claim to be Christians. So why flaunt sin and act like their lifestyle doesn’t grieve God’s heart?   Pride originated with Lucifer/Satan as he proclaimed, “I will be like the Most High.” [1] By his cunning, he deceived one-third of the angels.
