Nisan - The Beginning of Months

sewingdivine.com Most of us celebrated Resurrection Day on March 31, 2024, commemorating the AD 32 Passover events—the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Yeshua Jesus, our Jewish Messiah. Interestingly, Israel was celebrating Passover as I began writing this week. According to Chabad.org, “The Jewish Passover began Monday, April 22 nd , at 7:34 p.m. EST and ended Wednesday, April 24th, at 8:29 p.m. EST.” However, they celebrated with heavy hearts this “…night of solemn observance to the LORD for bringing them out of the land of Egypt…” [1]   Almost 4,000 years ago, in the Jewish month, Nisan , aka Abib, YHWH – the I AM Who I AM – the only True and Living God, who is Three, yet One, miraculously passed over the Israelites who had the BLOOD of a lamb spread upon the doorposts and lintel of their homes, while He killed the firstborn of Egypt. Why did God do this? So, Israel “…may know that the LORD does make a difference between the Egyptians and Israel…s...

But We See Jesus – Part Two

www.sewingdivine.com Jealousy, like poison, ruled their hearts. Although these chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things He did and heard the joyful squeals of children crying out, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” the blackness in their souls kept them from believing. Envy mixed with rage hurled words like daggers. “We must kill this heretic,” they said.   Satan stood in their midst, snickering. His plan to destroy the Son of God was nearing consummation. Slaying the Son would expel the Almighty, and Satan would be freed from his temporary prison to fully rule earth, its inhabitants, and soon, heaven.   Passover was at hand, and Satan saw his chance when Judas pocketed donated coins. Entering this disciple, he compelled him to strike a deal with the chief priests. For thirty pieces of silver, Judas would betray his Messiah.   Madness tormented as he led the soldiers to Jesus and identified the Holy One with a kiss. Throughout ...

WHAT IS TRUTH? Part 1   Flaming torches lit the road as guards carrying swords and clubs surrounded Him. Throughout the night, they tortured, tried, and convicted Him, even though four days earlier, citizens hailed Him as Messiah the Prince. [1] A nearby rooster crowed while a sliver of white light crested the horizon, and a cloaked figure ran from the courtyard weeping. Morning brightened the streets but not the hateful temperaments. Torches doused until night returned, and the evil parade marched on to the Praetorium. https://christianevidences.org/the-praetorium-antonia-fortress-jerusalem/   Outside this notorious citadel, self-righteous Pharisees who had named themselves His judge and jury summoned Pontius Pilate. Normally, a criminal would be escorted inside to the Bema—the judgment seat—but it was Passover. Entering a Gentile dwelling caused defilement making the Jew unable to partake. What a contradiction—what a joke—since they had the TRUE Passover Lamb in...

www.lambsblog.com     As morning sun lasered through the stitched seams of Nahshon’s tent onto my eyelids, I realized I’d slept way passed dawn. I tried to get up, but since my circumcision, every move caused excruciating pain. With gritted teeth, I stood to my feet and peeked through the door flap. Our chosen lamb leaped and baaed in joyful play with Nahshon’s giggling children. Tonight I would have the privilege of celebrating Passover with my new friends. In these four days, I too had become very fond of the soft little lamb and it had become his children’s pet. Surely Nahshon would not sacrifice this lamb now when he could just as easily choose another.      I scarfed down the manna cakes left for my breakfast and went in search of Ithamar. As I drew closer to the Tabernacle, the curtained structure that seemed so ominous a few days ago, I heard Eleazar’s voice. Just outside the east-facing tapestry gate, he and Ithamar were instructing th...

By The Blood Of The Lamb: A Story for Passover

Intense forceful wind swept the floor of the desert hurling bits of sand that stung our faces. Yet, with feet feeling of lead, we trudged toward the sea of tents.      The encampment seemed deserted, but muffled voices filtered through the walls of each tent. Clearly, the brief sandstorm had forced the inhabitants to remain sheltered.      Determined to reach the odd rectangular-shaped structure in the midst of the camp, we wove our way through crude walkways while our shadows, splashed against the tents, made known our presence. By the time we reached our destination, whipping sand had given way to searing heat and Nahshon, son of Amminadab, leader of the children of Judah blocked our way.
