O LORD my God, the One True and Living God,

I bow in Your presence today.

Thank You, O holy One of Israel, for my whole being, my health, my talents and abilities, and everything I am. You alone are the One who holds my life in Your hand. In Jesus, You chose me before the foundation of the world that I should be holy, set apart for You, and blameless before You in love. By Christ Jesus, You blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, and You did all this for the praise of the glory of Your grace.[1]

By Your grace or You giving me something I did not deserve, You predestined me and adopted me as a son according to the good pleasure of Your will.[2] You made me accepted in Your Beloved and mine—Jesus, God the Son. And LORD, it is in Him—In Jesus—that I have redemption and forgiveness of my sins through and by His shed blood.[3] This is only because Jesus became flesh and died for my sins as my substitute.[4] Thank You, Lord Jesus.

As I confess and beg Your forgiveness for all my wretched sins, Your Word says You, O God, are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.[5] Of this amazing grace and mercy, I know I am not worthy. Yet I humbly bow my heart as I believe and receive Your great love.

As You have loved and forgiven me, O LORD, please forgive America and its citizens for our heinous sin. After all You did for us—allowing us to win the Revolutionary War—a war we should not have won, and providing such intelligent and humble men to establish our Constitution and government, and still, we turned our backs on You. “If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.”[6]

Help America to turn back to You, believe, receive, and worship You alone. Save this nation, O LORD, because only You can. “Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.”[7]

In the matchless name of Jesus Christ,

the Savior of the world,

I pray.

Amen and amen.
