Seventeen Days of Prayer--Day One--January 4, 2021

Believe it or not, the number 17 carries the meaning of VICTORY in Scripture.

This morning, the Lord laid upon my heart a prayer—deliver us from evil. This is the cry of the redeemed here on earth in these tempestuous times. And because we read in Psalm 34:15, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry,” we have confidence He hears our prayers and will answer according to His Holy will.

Therefore, today I would like to begin another time of prayer. It is 17 days until January 20, 2021. Who knows, but the Lord our God, what will happen. Maybe He will allow right and good to have the victory!! So pray with me:

Lord God Almighty, our Holy Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, hear the cry of Your people. On this first day of our prayer, deliver us, Your children, and our nation from evil. Keep us one in spirit and heart as we speak Your Holy Word. Lord Jesus, we pray You are pleased with our offering.

“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13)

Lord God, this was the prayer that you taught us to pray, and today we are praying it back to You. We ask, O Lord our God, that you will hear this prayer as your word says you do — you see and hear the righteous. We trust you to do what is best in this country. And we thank You, O Lord, for mercy. Deliver us from evil. Please, Father, in Jesus’ name, deliver us from evil. You are the only One who can! So Lord, while we do not know the future, we know you. And Father God, our eyes are on you. In Jesus’ name, our Savior, our Lord, our All in All, Amen and amen.
