Seventeen Days of Prayer - Day Twelve - January 15, 2021

DAY TWELVE

“Thus says the Lord: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord…[for]…the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.’”[1]

O LORD our God, this nation, once built upon Your principles and Law, has gone the way of the world. Most follow the dictates of their own evil hearts. They have rejected You that You should not reign over them. They have forsaken You and served other gods—the gods of convenience and selfishness—promoting abortion—the shedding of innocent blood, and all the things You hate. The highest courts in our land are proud of conducting unlawful and fraudulent business. Lies flow from their lips like silk. They devise wicked plans, and their feet are swift in running to evil. False witnesses they love but TRUTH they will not hear or even allow in their presence. The discord they have sown in this nation has formed such a deep crevice our country may never be mended unless You, our God, intervene and stop the insanity.[2] Deliver us from evil.

Father, for far too long wickedness has overrun our nation, and we, Your children, have turned a blind eye. But no more! The blinders are off, and we see the evil controlling our government officials—federal, state, and local.

The enemy has made a serious error. He exposed himself in his pride, and we will not sit idly by and wait for him and his human servants to destroy America. You said we were to occupy until Jesus returned for His church. You said we were to be strong in You and in the power of Your might. You commanded for us to put on and take up the full armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil.[3]

Therefore, we, the people of the One True and Living God, empowered by Your Holy Spirit and filled with the exceeding greatness of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ when You raised Him from the dead,[4] pick up the gauntlet.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pull down the enemy’s stronghold over our nation; we cast down every proud argument and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.”[5]

We implore You, O LORD. Intervene as we pray. Set Your trap.

They have prepared a net for our steps and have dug a pit. Father, cause them to fall into it themselves.[6]

Almighty God, no matter what we see happening in the physical, we know You win. “Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power and the glory, the VICTORY and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.”[7]

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen, and amen.
