LORD God, as we
begin our day, we come before Your throne and bow in Your presence. Thank You
for our nation—the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave—the country You gave us. As Christians, true
believers in Jesus Christ, we have been complacent and sometimes apathetic
about the rights, freedoms, and blessings You have provided.
While we have been asleep,
the evil one has sewn tares and gained ground on our
watch.
He seeks to destroy our land and
enslave our people.[1]
His deceived
workers don’t even realize it is Satan who controls their puppet strings,
because their hearts and consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.[2] These blinded ones have become
like their father[3]
and puppet master, “…workers of iniquity, who speak peace to their
neighbors, but evil is in their hearts.”[4]
Gaining more and
more power is their immediate goal, O LORD, yet they are caught in Satan’s web
like dinner for a spider. You said, “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor
be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the
grass, and wither as the green herb.”[5]
May Your Word come to pass quickly for our country, O LORD.
But in the meantime, will these evildoers, these workers of iniquity,
destroy America, the land our brave men and women
fought so
hard to set free from tyranny?
America, the land You gave us, is once again in
danger. We, who are trying to keep it, are fighting a battle as fierce as the
Revolutionary War, and no one but You can save it. So, we look to our heavenly
Father and ask, “LORD, save us! LORD, save America from the socialists
and communists who are gaining ground. Give our President and all in authority
Your WISDOM, but also DISCERNMENT to see the enemy within. Help us, LORD God
Almighty, to fight this evil because we can do nothing without You—without Jesus.[6]
We, Your children,
will TRUST You. We’ll do good as You said. We’ll dwell in
this beautiful land and feed on Your faithfulness.[7] And because we know Your
purposes will be accomplished and worked out for our good,[8] we will REST in You, wait
patiently, and not fret when we see the wicked prosper.[9]
Thank you, LORD, for Your peace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
