Help us, LORD. Help us to hold on to the Democratic Republic of the United States of America—this land You gave us all those years ago. Help us to remember the former things: The wars that were fought, the men who died, first to make this country free, and then to keep it free and preserve our
ONE Nation under God.
We look to You for salvation—both physically and spiritually—for You are God, and there is no other.[1] There is none like You who has declared the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things not yet done.
For You were the One who said,
“My counsel shall stand, and I will do
all My pleasure.”[2]
Thank You, LORD God
Almighty, for the prosperity You have given America and the freedom we have enjoyed for the past 250 years. But this
land, this nation, You established as Your missionary nation to spread the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, and tell the world that Jesus, God the Son, the second person
of the Trinity, became flesh so He could die in our place and pay the penalty
for our sins, is in danger. Evil in the hearts of socialists, communists, Muslims,
Satanists, humanists, and all who reject You as LORD is seeking to
destroy this country.
You alone are the One
True and Living God. Your plan, O LORD, dealt with sin before You even laid the
foundation of the earth. You proclaimed this truth from the beginning in Your
promise of a Savior.[3] But You also knew and
declared the end—the time of Jacob’s Trouble—the great Tribulation.
This dreadful time is fast approaching,
for we see the signs everywhere,
especially in America. Rebellion,
crime, and hate make up
the perilous times You warned about.[4]
But because of Your
great Love, the night before Your crucifixion, You told true believers You would
prepare a place for us. You said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I
will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I
am, there you may be also.”[5]
You then gave the
apostles John and Paul the words to encourage and comfort Your
bride, the church. You said we would be changed in the twinkling of an eye,
caught up or snatched up to heaven to meet You in the air before
the terrible things come upon the earth.[6]
Still, while we
remain, You told us to occupy or do business until You come. Yet we became
complacent, apathetic, and lost sight of the goal. Forgive us, LORD. With the
time we have left, help us to love You with our whole heart, to do Your will of
reaching the lost for Jesus. This, in turn, will change hearts and make it easier for You to save America.
Holy Spirit, give us Your strength, power,
and boldness
to finish this race well. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
